Explore The Pristine Outdoors With Northeast India Tours

By Deborah Price

Tourism has always been a great contributor to the gross domestic product of India. In particular, the northeast of the country is home to a diverse range of jungles and hills. If you are thinking of heading to this great nation for your vacation, here is a snapshot of what northeast India tours look like.

The northeast is marked with a plethora of breathtaking destinations, which in effect makes it hard for the ordinary tourist to choose a specific spot. The abundance of pristine destinations in this region has forced tour operators to classify their packages based on location. Tawang is a region that is highly recommended for those new to India. Before you travel, you should make sure your organizers make advance plans for transportation and accommodation.

Tawang is a governmental district in the Arunachal Pradesh province. It holds an unchallenged reputation of being the most naturally endowed of all the administrative districts in the province. Lots of natural wonders call this place home. Most organizers have a liking for the distinct cultures, valleys, ancient monasteries and orchid gardens in the district.

There are two transport options that one may choose. Your tour organizers may fly you straight to Guwahati airport or take you to the area by train. Many investors have taken advantage of the tourism potential that the region has and have put up good hotels in the area. Once you arrive, you might want to check out the Kamakhya Devi Temple. Later, spend the night in one of the local five star hotels.

Indian districts usually cover vast swathes of land. Bhalukpong, which should be the first stop on your second day, is 245 kilometers away. Many tourists flock it to check its vast array of plant species. A popular local garden has over 450 rare orchids, a distinct record in this nation. The Kameng, a snow fed river, cuts across the lands of Bhalukpong.

A five hour drive from this location should take you to Dirang, another notable attraction. An 8600ft depression called the Monpa Valley lies here. When on site, remember to check the Bomdila Monastery. Founded in 1965, it has been the revered abode of Lamas and Buddhist monks.

Your tour will get more interesting when you visit Tawang town. You might need a whole day to explore its entire expanse. The Tawang Monastery is its star attraction. The monster was founded by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso in the 1600s. Currently, it hosts ancient Buddhist texts and over 500 monks. Other noteworthy sites in the municipality include the Monpa Village and the Urgelling Monastery.

A memorial to the 1962 Indo China War lies 25 kilometers away. It is dedicated to a fallen soldier whose service during the battle stood out. Historical accounts state that he singlehandedly stood his ground against the advancing Chinese for 72 hours. He did this despite the 10000ft altitude that he was at. In spite of his heroic antics, he fell to enemy gunfire. Nature trails dot the surroundings of the memorial.

Due to the high visitor traffic throughout the year, early booking is recommended. Also ensure you get vaccinated prior to traveling. Without a doubt, you will have the time of your life.
