How To Choose The Right Survival Backpack For Sale

Hikers know what kind of gear is needed to sustain them for several days. There are a number of things you need to know about putting a pack together for a hike or to ensure you have the items you need to sustain yourself in case of emergency. You can find a survival backpack for sale that is equipped with the things a person needs to survive three days.

You can purchase a bag that has already been outfitted, add to it, or put one together yourself. Folks modify their survival bags over time to ensure that they have a good amount of supplies. It is not easy to know how to begin gathering the right supplies. However, if you think about the basic needs in any survival situation you will be off to a great start.

The packs that are sold are designed to aid folks in an emergency. There are enough supplies to sustain an individual for tree days. However, many people plan for packs to provide support for much longer. Keep in mind that the bag should not be too heavy to carry. A pack that is heavy will not help in a situation that is desperate.

When purchasing a pack that is already assembled, choose one that has the basic supplies to carry you for 3 days. Water is at the top of the list of necessitates in any situation. When in a situation of survival water quickly becomes a very valuable item. The minimum that you should have per day is 1 liter which means you should carry three liters at least.

When you pack for longer that three days you will need a water purifying method. This method can involve the use of boiling the water, iodine tablet, or a filter. Collapsible bottles provide for additional water storage. Using coffee filters can increase the life of your water purification method. You may also consider packing bottled water.

If packing a three day pack freeze dried foods and energy bars are adequate. Freeze dried meals are prepared using boiling water. The meals will last for a long time and are quite light so they will not increase the weight of your pack. Of course if you are planning for emergency or disaster packs you need a longer term food solution.

Pack clothing that is similar to what you would carry for a backpacking weekend. For three days you should pack a hat, one pair of long pants, two pair of socks, a long and short sleeved shirt, a warm and waterproof jacket, and long underwear. Remember to consider the climate in your area so you pack accordingly.

A tent or tarp will keep you dry and warm when you sleep. Include a sleeping bag or bedroll. Make sure you have a first aid kit. Have a few ways to start fire, small pot for cooking, something to cut wood, two flashlights, and a knife. Also carry along some type of weapon for self defense. The weapon is your personal choice, take what you are comfortable with.
