Making The Most Out Of Your Apartment Hotel Stay In Paradise

By Elizabeth Howard

Barbados, an island on the Caribbean with a colorful history. It started as a British colony and a stopover for pirates to trade and restock. The economy was not very good in the beginning with most of it coming from agriculture but they eventually moved away from that and have morphed into world class tourist destination.

Not so long ago, locals would be hard pressed to imagine a time when they would become known world wide. A Barbados apartment hotel was definitely not something the local businessman associated with a large profit but clearly, nowadays one can do very well with such a property. Anyone with a penchant for traveling will without a doubt love this place.

When you get to the island, expect to be greeted with smiles from the easy going locals who will be more than happy to offer you a variety of services. Quickly, you will get a taste of their culture. Even just conversations with the taxi driver on your way to your hotel could be enough for you to have an overflowing itinerary.

Once settled, you should already be where you need to be, by the beach with a rum punch in hand. From there, you can go anywhere on around the coast, resort or not, the beaches are breathtaking. Most places that even look like fancy privately owned resorts are actually government owned and open to the public. They also have water taxis, boats that can be commissioned just like you would a regular taxi to take you to any edge of the island.

There is no shortage of seafood restaurants, water sports, and seaside virtually on every beach. The catch for the day might even find itself on top of your plate with you salivating over it. And the cuisine is, without question, in a class of its own.

Heart pounding water sports, a midday cruise with song and dance from the locals, and snorkeling along breathtaking coral reefs are just some other things you can do. Its also worth venturing into the some of the pristine forests in Barbados with a diverse and thought provoking wildlife. Needless to say, having a local guide through the forest would serve you well.

Barbados has a number of natural tourist spots, one of which is their caves. If you are lucky enough to have docked at the right beach you should be able to see the one cave that opens up to the Atlantic ocean with its own natural pool inside, looking out from this cave at sunset will be an unforgettable experience. Swimming in a natural infinity pool inside the cave will be another.

If you have had enough swimming around, you could journey deeper to witness the beautiful forests. Maybe you will even find a restaurant hidden nestled amidst of the thick plant life. When you are done here, you might enter one of the cities where that boast sublime mural paintings, immerse yourself into the culture, or experience unique nightlife.

This summer, if you want a place to unload all your stress on and unwind, Barbados is a shoo in. In this day and age it is a lot easier to book trips. Prepare your sun tan, do yourself a favor and go to Barbados.
