In St Maarten Activities Cater For Every Possible Taste And Preference

By Karina Frost

There is just something about the Caribbean that evokes thoughts of exotic food, pristine beaches and five star hospitality. The islands offer unequalled holidays and they cater for every conceivable taste and preference. Most of the St Maarten activities are centered upon the water. No wonder, since the beaches are among the best the world has to offer. There are much more than water activities, though. Everyone is guaranteed a grand time, even if you do not enjoy water sports.

One of the most surprising things to do on this island is to visit the tennis academy. This may sound like a strange setting for a top class sporting facility but this academy is rated one of the top attractions of St Martin. They offer advanced training programs but visitors can also enjoy a few leisurely games on the world class courts offered by the facility.

Cruise ship passengers especially enjoy visiting the Loterie farm. It also boasts a fly zone where there are zip lines for both adults and younger people. This adventurous activity is safe but it offers adventure to those that enjoy a little burst of adrenalin. The venue also offers exciting hiking trails that offer spectacular views on Marigot and the island of Anquilla. An excellent bar and restaurant will ensure that visitors do not go hungry or thirsty.

It is only natural that the majority of activities on the island focus on the water. It is not necessary to engage in specific activities however. Many visitors simply revel in the glorious sunshine, preferring to lounge around on one of the many excellent beaches, soaking up the sun and enjoying the tranquility of the ocean. In most cases there will be waiters to supply exotic drinks and snacks if it is required.

There is something for everyone, including the adventure seekers. Jet skis and wave runners can be hired almost anywhere. Even better, those that want to see the earth from above can book a parasailing experience. Wind surfing, surfing and body surfing is extremely popular. Kite surfing is not for everyone but those that want a little bit of adrenalin will simply be enthralled.

When visiting an island in the Caribbean it is only natural to expect that there will be boat trips. St Martin certainly does not disappoint. There are many charter companies that cater for every conceivable taste. Those that enjoy the underwater world will not be disappointed. Scuba and snorkeling expeditions are highly rated and extremely popular. Sunset cruises with drinks and live music are also very popular.

Kids also have a lot to do. The Kids World Amusement Park in Cole Bay is a particularly popular attraction. Here the young ones and even the not so young ones can enjoy a very wide variety of activities. There is horse riding, carousels, go karts, a host of physical activities and an outside playing area. In fact, no child should ever be bored when visiting St Martin.

St Martin offers visitors an amazing variety of activities. The locals are friendly and they do everything possible to make visitors feel welcome. The islands in the Caribbean have a special charm. A holiday there will most certainly turn out to be the experience of a lifetime.
