Disney Dream Vacation And Family Fun

By Frances Young

When it comes to a family vacation, there are often a number of options. While this is the case, some of the best fun a family can have is on a disney dream vacation. For, while all parks in California and Florida were originally designed for children, there are also amusements and events targeted towards adults.

The toughest parts of this type vacation is deciding which parks to visit. While this is the case, there are discount packages available which include entry to all Disney based parks at either location. In addition, to save time and frustration, there are also several themed number hotels located on each property.

While going on vacation is an exciting prospect, planning ahead can breed even more excitement. In one case, individuals and families can work on a Disney savings account which individuals can contribute money on a daily, weekly or monthly basis with all funds going toward the purchase of park admission and hotel stays.

While the parks do make for a grand vacation, timing can be everything, especially in Florida. For, the Florida parks are often extremely crowded and at times can reach sell out status, especially during Spring and Summer months. As such, if planning on going to Florida, the less crowded months are between December and March. Although, while the water parks remain open, it is important to check weather forecasts as there can be cold fronts, and while rare, even snow during winter months.

Most all amusement parks shut down rides for short periods during thunderstorms. Although, as weather can often change as quickly in Florida as in Texas, sometimes these events are unforeseen. During these weather events, some individuals may have to remain on a ride until the storm passes, especially if there is thunder, lightning or high wind. As such, while visiting the parks can be fun, it is important to bring a high level of patience along for the ride.

One thing people forget is that drinks and food are not included in the ticket price. In addition, concession stands are often rather expensive. Whereas, there are also thrill rides which may charge an extra fee in addition to the regular ticket price, just a few things to consider when budgeting a trip or setting up a savings plan.

While the parks have a lot of amusement rides and entertainment for children, most have height requirements. As such, it is often advised that individuals view this information on the Disney websites before purchasing tickets. For, once tickets are purchased, no refunds are available.

Whether headed to Florida or California, Disney can also be an incredible experience for solo travelers. In addition, there are inexpensive lodging options such as American International Youth Hostels located in each area which often run between $20 and $40 per night for dorm rooms and $60 to $100 for a private room. While there are no radios or televisions in the room, most often those staying at these locations are gone all day and only need a bed for sleeping, though most have kitchens where lodgers can cook meals as well, just a few reasons the prices are so low.

Either park system, California or Florida can be fun for singles as well as families. By planning ahead, visitors can often experience a vacation of a lifetime. Whereas, if in need of travel assistance, there are Disney representatives ready to chat with future visitors and assist with questions on each park website.
