Delray Beach Florida Is More Than Just A Nice Town

By Jony Mozen

Identifying the features of a city that make people feel at home is a tough ask. It is unlikely to get two people to agree exactly on this diverse subject, yet it is clear that some cities certainly have more appeal than others. Delray Beach Florida falls into this category and has increasingly become the preferred choice for many new residents.

The way people feel and relate to a place psychologically is to an extent an emotional issue. Yet the way a city is developed in terms of resources and structure is also very important, an aspect of this city which is really impressive.

Considering the growth in population since the early nineteen hundreds to present has risen from under 1000 to approximately 64,000 something very positive must have been happening. Earlier history reveals the presence of Native Americans, hunting and trapping parties and even runaway slaves. But it is the future that looks exciting now and justifiably so.

The climate has to be one of the main attractions. With the temperature rarely going below 55 during the cold months and often reaching 90 degrees during the summer periods. Not surprisingly the vast expanse of publicly owned beach areas offer an abundance of water sports like underwater diving, yachting and catching fish. Sports are common pastimes here with golfing being particularly popular. Tennis also flourishes and can now boast a male ATP world tour 250 series event held annually.

If more sheltered waterways are preferred then miles of canals and waterside real estate development offer almost endless possibilities for potential home owners, boating enthusiasts as well as those who prefer to watch this world go by with their feet on firm ground. The Intracoastal Waterway allows access by boat to the central business district. A vibrant real estate market allows entry onto the property ladder over a wide range of prices, making it suitable for both first time and established property owners.

Many a seaside town has been described as a fun and happy town but how many have the credentials to prove it. Coastal living listed this town amongst the 2015 Happiest Seaside Towns. USA Today and Rand McNally have named it Most Fun Small Town in recent publications and websites.

In terms of sophistication and infrastructure there are outstanding medical, educational and municipal services. Fifty four separate educational institutions and seven major medical facilities. With excellent road, rail links and major airports within easy reach, one could say that there are all the conveniences of a large city without the hassle. Focused and efficient, the town management seem to maintain the right balance between regulation and freedom and maintain high municipal standards.

Shops are of course an essential ingredient of the modern Florida lifestyle and here this town doesn't disappoint. Whether it be roaming the malls or personalized shopping, rest assured there is plenty of both. The renowned Atlantic Avenue is a fine example of the latter with jewelers, designer clothing, antique dealers and art galleries in abundance. Many a festival or parade also takes place here so be prepared. Of course for some, retail therapy simply involves nothing more than enjoying the delights of a restaurant, bar or cafe, activities that are very adequately provided.

Village by the sea is what many people call this deceptive haven. Experiencing the lifestyle and the friendly nature may well suggest this. High service levels and living standards suggest something more.
